Pick the beam count to match the wall or railing height and the range to span the gap between transmitter and receiver, for example an AKT-8-60 for a 138 cm fence over a 60 m run.

The transmitter and receiver run on DC 12-18 V. Current draw is low at ≤35 mA for the transmitter and ≤45 mA for the receiver, so a small regulated supply or alarm-panel auxiliary output is enough. The receiver provides a buzzer indication and an alarm signal that wires into a standard anti-theft alarm panel or perimeter controller.
